Decaf Coffee Contains No Caffeine While decaf coffee contains significantly less caffeine than a regular cup of java, it still has anywhere between 8 and 32 milligrams of caffeine. While this may seem, negligible, it could make a difference for people with high sensitivity to caffeine. If you really want a caffeine-free beverage, it might be better to opt for decaf herbal tea. Fat Free Means Calorie Free Fat free does not necessarily equal calorie free. Sometimes fat free foods can contain as much or more calories than regular versions of the same foods. Sugars and starches are often added to low and fat free foods to enhance the taste—these extra ingredients can be high in calories and create weight gain despite the foods themselves being low in fat! The best way to know what you’re eating is to check the nutrition label. Eating at Night Causes More Weight Gain You gain weight whenever you eat more calories than you are able to burn in a day. Eating at night could only cause more weight gain if you are idly eating at that time and forget about moderation! So whether it’s at night or during the day, it’s best to be mindful of portion control and also to get enough exercise. You Should Drink Eight Glasses of Water a Day Water is a great way to fulfill your liquid intake, but don’t forget the plethora of options you have. Juice, coffee, tea, and even soft drinks also contribute to your daily requirements. Eight glasses is the standard number, but really everyone needs varying amounts of liquids. Fresh Vegetables Are Better for You Than Frozen Ones Freshly picked vegetables have more nutrients, but generally nutrients are depleted during transportation and packaging anyway. So unless you live on a farm and pick your own vegetables, buying fresh or frozen at the store doesn’t really make a difference. Posted in Health | Where to Find Free StuffMonday, April 13th, 2009
